Ron began his career as a wealth manager in 1985 with a deep dedication to helping clients and their families achieve both their financial and career goals and peace of mind. This same level of caring about our clients and having a positive impact on their lives is a core value of Diversified Portfolios today. Ron earned both his law (JD, 1985) and undergraduate (BA with honors, 1982) from the University of Michigan, and is a CFA® charterholder.
Ron founded Yolles Investment Management, one of the predecessors to DPI, in 1987 to deliver personal financial and investment planning services to individuals and families. Ron cofounded the Council of Independent Financial Advisors (CIFA) in 1993, a national association of high-caliber fee only fiduciary wealth management firms dedicated to best practices. He has written extensively on personal finance including the retirement planning best-selling book, “You’re Retired, Now What?” (John Wiley & Sons, 1998). He is a past director of the Financial Analyst’s Society of Detroit and currently serves on the boards of Yad Ezra Community Food Bank and Camp Tamarack. Ron’s great joys include his family, friends, tennis, travel with his wife Laura, and learning.
